Warning Signs: Could It Be Infertility?
At least one year of unprotected intercourse is needed before suspecting an infertility problem. According to the NIH, 70% of pregnancies are achieved after 6 months, and 90% within a year.
Warning signs include: menstrual cycle irregularities, pelvic pain during menstruation or intercourse, history of sexually transmitted infections, and erection or ejaculation problems in men.
Diagnosis and Testing
For women: hormonal analysis (FSH, LH, AMH, estradiol), transvaginal ultrasound, hysterosalpingography (HSG) to evaluate the fallopian tubes. For men: semen analysis as the fundamental test.
