    Surrogacy in Mexico

Medical considerations and questions for independent legal advice

    What is gestational surrogacy?

Surrogacy describes an arrangement in which a person carries a pregnancy for intended parents. It is different from egg donation: providing eggs and carrying a pregnancy are separate roles.

    Medical questions to discuss

Seek an individual assessment before considering treatment. Ask about required evaluations, assisted reproduction alternatives, risks to the gestational carrier and pregnancy follow-up. IVF and egg donation do not guarantee pregnancy or a live birth.

    Independent legal advice in Mexico

Do not assume that a law or court decision applies equally to every case. Ask an independent lawyer about current requirements in the relevant jurisdiction, informed consent, parentage and birth registration. International families should also review travel documents and recognition in their home country.

    Questions before making a decision

Who provides each service and with which authorizations? How is the carrier’s free and informed consent protected? Who pays for care and possible complications? Which costs and responsibilities are documented? What happens if treatment does not result in pregnancy? Obtain independent advice before signing agreements or making payments.
